Internet Tax Freedom Act

This image represents the lack of tax on transactions made online state to state. The Internet Tax Freedom act passed during the Clinton administration. The law prohibits multiple and discriminatory taxes on electronic commerce and it wont be reviewed again until November 1, 2014.

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers

This iamge shows the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers which was created by the US government. ICANN has a diverse international representation of various sectors such as the private sectors, the governement and consumer interests. It was ultimately established to allocate and provide a formal strucutre domain name system management.

Total Retail vs. E-Commerce

The trend shows that the e-commerce growth rate is about twice the growth rate of retail sales.  Even during the recession in 2008/2009, e-commerce sales had a growth rate above that of retail.  This could be caused by the convenience of e-commerce that allows people to shop from home and compare prices without having to drive to several different stores.

E-Commerce vs. Gas Prices

Increasing gas prices seems to correlate with increasing e-tail sales and could be one of the many factors as to why e-commerce is getting popular.  There is a significant increase in e-tail sales during the fourth quarter due to Christmas shopping, but we can see the steady increase of e-tail sales over time when comparing the same quarter each year.
